A location-based MMO played on the real world map.
You spawn where you actually are. The park at the end of your road is a grove worth chopping, the hills outside town are where the dragons live, and the ground you walk past every day can be claimed, walled and fought over.
The original Parallel Kingdom ran for eight magnificent years but PerBlue closed the servers on November 1st, 2016. Nothing has managed to take its place that has satisfied the nostalgia of that great game. This is an attempted revival built from scratch by one person based on the combined memory of a small community of players and it is playable right now in a browser.
Free to play, and nothing to install: it runs on a phone or a desktop.

There is no invented continent to learn. The world is generated out of real OpenStreetMap terrain, one square at a time, the first time a player walks into it.
Parks grow groves. Airfields draw roc nests. Deserts turn spiky and the high ground gets dragons, and no cave worth mining is ever left unguarded.
A flag claims the land around it. Claims are real polygons on the map: yours to build on, and other players' to take off you.
Cabins, manors, chests, crafting benches and guard towers. Your storage is a place on the map, which means it is a place someone can come to.
Larva up to dragons, each with its own temper and reach. Weapons and armour are matched against each other, so what you carry matters as much as your level.
A shared marketplace with live listings and price history, so a stack of logs is worth what people are actually paying for it.
Flags annexed together become a town with a hall, walls and peacekeeper towers, and safe ground for the people who live in it.
Wherever you are. The game is played on the real world, so it uses your device's real location and builds your first patch of world around the spot you are standing on: a couple of trees to chop, something soft to kill, and the skeleton carrying the dagger you are going to take off it.
A short guided opening walks you through your first fight, your first tree and your first flag. After that nobody tells you where to go.
This is an early alpha, run by one person on one machine. Read this bit properly.
The server goes down, the rules change, and things break. Discord is where any of that gets said out loud.
